There’s no limit when it comes to buttercream frosting flavors for cupcakes! Super simple to make and so delicious, buttercream frosting is a great match for almost any cupcake recipe. Especially if it’s enhanced by a special flavor – that can really take your baking creations to the next level! The most popular buttercream frosting options are vanilla, chocolate and strawberry but there are some utterly unique buttercream frosting recipes such as Jalapeño Buttercream or Basil Buttercream as well.
Buttercream frosting is one of the most popular cupcake frosting recipes because it’s really simple to make. Plus, it’s totally versatile – once you get the grip of making the basic buttercream recipe, you will be able to add almost any ingredient to it and completely transform its taste.
Basic buttercream is made of three ingredients – butter, cream and sugar. Some recipes will have more sugar, some recipes will have less and some – no sugar at all. That all depends on the specific ingredients combination as well as your taste preferences.
